Hiring a team of Promotional Models to promote your brand, product or service is at first, a seemingly simple task.  However, as you drill down into the specifics of designing and executing an effective event, promotion or campaign, this seemingly easy task becomes a bit more complex.  We all are aware of the sheer overload of branding messages and advertisements we are all subjected to every single day competing for the relatively small amount of attention we have to devote to anything outside of our typical daily routines.  It used to be much easier to capture our attention, but years of “training” combined with ubiquitous technology that surrounds us every waking moment attempting to stream messages into our consciousness simply puts us all on overload, and we have become experts at opting out of this “noise” of never ending branding and marketing messages.  Sometimes we rely on technology to filter or entirely remove our advertising messages (TiVo and DVR type devices, Satellite Radio, etc., etc.), sometimes we simply concentrate our focus elsewhere.

It has also become infinitely harder to collectively impress people, or even to keep our attention once something has it, because if it doesn’t immediately grab us, we simply move on to the next thought, image, video, article, Facebook post, etc. etc.  So, the challenge with any promotional campaign today becomes, how do we capture the attention of potential customers, and how do we keep it for the time it takes to deliver our branding message in a compelling way?

When you add that objective to a seemingly simple campaign or effort, it suddenly becomes anything but simple.  There are, of course examples all around us of efforts by companies and brands who think that by virtue of hiring a promotional team and putting them in branded t-shirts, that will attract one minute of someone’s attention.  But what about the message itself?  What about the Brand Ambassadors delivering the message?  Are they actually capitalizing on the brief moment of attention they may be granted, or are they delivering an uninspired and robotic message that is immediately forgettable or even worse, incoherent, non-nonsensical and even damaging to your brand?  Unfortunately, it is often the later.  Add in more external stimuli that diverts attention elsewhere (and here in Las Vegas, there is plenty of that), and your marketing campaign is guaranteed to fall short of achieving it’s objectives.

So, if that’s what you are looking for, go ahead and pick any promotional agency with a few head shots of pretty faces off of the web and that’s what you are sure to get.  An agency who can make a few calls, send a few emails and (if you’re lucky) get a staff of Brand Ambassadors or Promo Models to show up and (hopefully) attract a little attention.
